Well know as houseplants mainly derived from the Chinese version. The small evergreen shrubs produce funnel-shaped flowers that range in color from white, pink to orange.

Oaks are slow growing and long-lived. The twigs and fruits of oaks form a large portion of the food consumed by many game birds and mammals. In ancient England laws provided that anyone wantonly injuring or destroying an oak should be fined according to the size of the tree and its ability to bear fruits.

The Acorn is the harbinger of new life. Acorns are eaten by nearly all herbivorous birds and mammals and were extensively used as a food source for native North American Indians. They are also roasted as a coffee substitute.

The Japanese Maple is a slow growing shrub or small tree with soft green palmate leaves that color to a rich crimson in autumn. The long stalked clusters of purplish-red flowers are followed by "key" like fruits with two wings. The helicopters or whirly birds that filled the sky of our childhood.

A plant or flower that usually has showy 3-petaled flowers with the middle petal enlarged into a lip and differing from the others in shape and color. While we think of orchids as exotic flowers, there are a lot of orchids that grow wild. Orchids are highly prized and unique and, lore has it that to carry any orchid brings luck in love.

An herb belonging to the genus Trifloivm in the pea family having three leaves and dense heads of small flowers, clover is a source of nectar for honeybees.

Our Clover Frame, available in 2x3, 4x6 and 5x7 (pictured), is a gold washed frame with bronze clover motif.

The fresh scented oil distilled from pine needles has powerful antiseptic properties. Both the oil and an infusion of the needles are employed medicinally as decongestants to alleviate sinusitis, bronchitis and catarrh. Pinecones produce the kernels used in Mediterranean cookery. Pine trees grow wild in mountainous areas and are usually in light, sandy or rocky soils. Pines are also grown as ornamentals in parklands.
